First, I absolutely agree with Cowboyjg, go to the dealers and explain your situation, what you want to do, ask them for recommendations. They may very well tell you that you picked the right size or the wrong size. In either case, ask them WHY they think that. Ask them what equipment would best do the jobs you want done (and why). Ask them if they offer equipment rentals also, it might save you some money for implements that you might need initially but won't use much, if at all, later on.
Does anyone know what the competing models would be for this tractor in the Deere, Kubota, New Holland lines? Thanks.
As far as competing models, I know that in the power range you are looking at, New Holland has at least 6 different models, in 3 different series of tractors (TT series, TC series and TN series). Slightly different, but from the same company, Case (both Case and New Holland are owned by parent company Case-New Holland) are at least 3 models from Case in 2 different series (DX series and JX series), in the small sizes, Case & New Holland are clones of each other, but in larger sizes they each have their own features some models may be similar and some may be very different. I know John Deere has several ranges of tractors as well, it is very likely that they have several machines in the power range you are considering and can think of at least 3 models between 53 and 58hp, so just as with New Holland and Case, they probably have one or two that are better suited for some jobs than for others, making all that much more important to talk to the dealer and explain your uses and your goals.
Also, you might want to ask the moderators to move this thread to the main Buying/Pricing/Comparision forum rather than having it here in the Kioti forum. You will find that many folks don't look into competing brand forums and may never see your post.
