Completed Shooting Bench

My center section is 24" wide, the fillets are 18" each for a total width of 60". The seat is 72" wide total. Length is identical but again I notched the stringers to key together (sorry for the terminology but no real experience with building anything).

Awesome job on the bench. I have those same plans with intention to build. I certainly like your version better. The two sided bench is nice as it accommodates us "south paw" shooters as well as y'all odd right handers.

Installed! Anchored in concrete, I can't wiggle it even when bouncing on the seat. I'm most happy.

Half of the bench is made from left overs from the shooting bench and will be located near it for spectators. It's a three person bench and will be anchored in one foot of concrete. Once again, I accidentally over-engineered it. The overhang on the front edge is a hand hold to pull your old guy butt forward before standing.

My brother is goofy hand. Also, I'm modifying my spotting scope mount for use from either position.

Mods from the original plans: I used 4X4s instead of 6X6s due to availability in my one-horse town; I made the bench wider everywhere and went with a solid seat; Also, I notched the center cross stringers for extra strength on the unsupported filets.

Wow!:shocked: Originally called for 6X6's? I think you chose wisely. Nice looking bench! If I didn't know any better you live in Oklahoma. Looks like it could be somewhere around my place.
