I know this gets cussed and discussed a lot but the concealed carry thread got me wondering what TractorByNet users prefer to carry. I used to have a Kimber Ultra 10-II 1911 that I carried and a couple of years ago traded it for a Glock 23. My favorite to shoot however is my Kimber Eclipse but a tad heavy for regular carry.

I carry a smith and Wesson chiefs special .45 in a SERPA holster under heavy clothes in the winter. In the summer I carry a ruger lcp .380 with t shirts. I only carry within reason where I don't leave an imprint. Some fat guys are able to carry full size year round. So only what is comfortable

Yep, you will get a LOT of opinions. I will steer clear of what is "best", I've carried Colt Detective Special, Colt Combat Commander, Colt 1911, Beretta 92, S&W 669 and 6906, Sig 220, 226, 228, 229, 239, S&W 686, 66, 638, 649, Glock 23 and 27, Walther PPKS, Baby Browing, OMC; may have missed one or two. I carried the Glocks last and like them, but I now carry a S&W 638 because I'm to lazy to carry anything else. I do keep my Glocks and extra magazines close by though.

My go to is a Springfield XD sub-compact in 9MM.I never thought I would own a 9mm but advances in ammo has made it viable. My second piece is also a Springfield compact in 40 S&W.Cross draw holsters, for easy sitting.

Kimber CDP pro 35%
S&W 38 bodyguard 65%
I love my 1911 but I tend to carry the 38 more due to size, weight and I keep a couple of shot shells in it for snakes and other undesirable critters.
I guess, if I'm in the country, I carry the 38, the 45 is for the city....at least for me.

Much discussed topic.

concealed carry = all day, every day, all work conditions = no special clothing = all clothing I own = winter/summer = comfortable/light = pocket carry = lightest/smallest realistic self defense caliber = 9mm = KelTec PF9 7+1 with laser sight = never a FTF/FTE = in my pocket now = BETTER TO HAVE AND NOT NEED THAN TO NEED AND NOT HAVE.

Your logic may vary.:D

I shoot a 9 mm Sig Sauer P229DAK for qualifying, but carry my S&W Chief's special .38 spl. in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. And I keep the S&W Combat Masterpiece .38 spl. loaded and handy at home.

i used to carry my ex-duty weapon concealed, a .45 S&W. it's a large-frame and heavy, but we became friends and i found enough different hosters to fit the occasion. lately i've scaled down in size, carry a 9mm Ruger, LC9. sweet little gun and easily concealable. we're becoming inseparable.

I carry either a Dan Wesson CBOB 10mm or a Keltec P3AT. Occasionally carry a Sig P230.
