You will not regret doing the drilling and it will take more time to locate the drill and extension cord than it will take to drill the holes. You will regret not doing it if the apron falls or heaves.... as I said in a previous post, I had the problem and learned the hard way...... the decision is yours.....
And I know the feeling about working on the house.... 20 years and I am still not finished......

You got that right! I've moved all my tools from our current house to the shop. Not to mention a lot of furniture, everything in the garage and storage unit, etc.. etc.. I've got four 16'x3' steel sheves, four shelves high in each unit, full of stuff. Then there is the trailer, tractor, furniture.... We moved out most of the stuff in our current house to make it look huge while we were trying to sell it. Boy did it work, got all kinds a room...LOL!
