Does anyone here have suggestions or actual use of putting a 'penetrating sealer' down ? I don't want to use an acrylic type.
Here is what I am looking at. Concrete was poured a week ago.

Siloxa-Tek 8505 Concrete Sealer // Ghostshieldョ
Siloxa-Tek 855 Concrete Sealer // Ghostshield(R)

Thanks

Last year had floor poured in my 30' x 46' barn. After much searching I ordered from a company named Concrete Sealers USA and purchased 5 gallon bucket of PS107 sodium silicate densitier with penetrating sealer. I found a discount, basically free shipping, and got it delivered next day (really surprised) at just under $200. They have densifier only 5 gal PS107 for $99.

Anyway, you must wait 30 days for full cure to use these type products vs the siliconate types that are sprayed on concrete right after finish trowel. Reading pros and cons of either method/type is something I'll let others speak to as the topic has many points of views Pros/cons.

The five gallons covered with heavier first coat and an immediate lighter second coat. I pushed product around with course push broom as one option listed and scrubbed it in. If you wanted to go all out for a semi polished look you could apply with floor buffer but alternate method I used was satisfactory to me.

Very informative article and a couple suggested brands in it. Keep in mind penetrating sealers are for specific jobs. Not sure what your wanting to protect your concrete from. Also keep in mind that what you use now affects the application of products later on. Silicate sealers are something to look at for sure. Your just going to need to google silicate sealers and see what available in your area.

I’ve always used a Hudson type sprayer to apply this type of product. Your concrete guy will know what folks around there use. The cut sheet you linked looked like good stuff. Their might be something else that the local wholesaler and or concrete contractor has.

There are many good products out there. As was said; depends on end use what you use. If you want a durable reslient smooth finish, like a shop floor, IMHO the urethanes are the best. Epoxyies then do chip on impacts. The silanes are good to start with as they will fill the pores and you will use less of a top coat system. Whatever you do spend the money to buy industrial grade products that the contractor's use for spec jobs. They all sell over the counter now and have a lot of good recommendations. SIKA has a complete array of high quality products. I always use their urethane one part self leveling joint filler for joints in flat concrete or masonry. Loews has some of their stuff.

There was a time curbs & sidewalks were sealed with a 50/50 mixture of linseed oil and kerosene.

Thanks for the links ! I just want something to make it easier to cleanup oil spills, stains, etc. The Sillicate type is what I am looking for after reading the description.

Since we live remote I will just order online. I did go to the concrete batch plant locally but didn't see what I was looking for.

The stuff you had the cut sheet for in a Hudson would be fine.
