Beautiful work, rScotty! I've got a long way to go before I get to that! Here's some of the stuff I've done. I don't get nearly as much time to make stuff, but thoroughly enjoy the time I do get!

Shaeff, that's great stuff. It seems that art and welding go hand in hand for most of us metal-working guys. I know that the first time I laid down a bead - and then tilted the helmet up to take a look at it....well, the first thing that crossed my mind was, "Wow, I hope that is strong enough because it sure is ugly. Surely I can make a better looking bead than that !". So I sat down then to practice running beads for awhile....which I still do. And all the rest just sort of follows.

I really believe that a good-looking weld is important in making a strong structural weld. And the better the welder, the better his welds tend to look.

Thanks! I started welding out of necessity, reinforcing sub frames on powerful cars I built, practice makes better, but I’m never perfect!

I’ve done the same thing- “sure hope that holds ‘cuz it ain’t pretty!”

We are in agreement on many things!
