cone slide adjustments

Hi Everyone

This is my first post. I bought a 3 pt. Gyro fertilizer spreader at an auction. (No manual ). Can anyone tell me what the cone slide adjustments are for. Would appreciate it. Thanks

Welcome to TBN. I'm guessing that its like a gate that controls how much fertilizer is dispensed onto the rotating plate..

No what I'm talking about is where the cone attaches to the frame there are slide adjustments. Attached by several very rusty bolts I didn't want to mess with if not necessary. It looks like if you loosen the bolts the cone will turn in either direction. There are markings 0-10. Just not sure why you would need to turn the cone. It is set at 5 now. There is of course the slide door also. I can't find this manufacturer online to look up a manual. I used it the other day for grass & wheat seed and with the door closed all the way enough leaked out to do the job. I wondered if the adjustment raised or lowered the cone somehow. Thanks again.

I think turning the cone would change the direction of throw.
