AEP will put in an RFID meter free of charge if you request it (if you have a mean dog, they'll insist on it. Ask me how I know!)...they would no longer need to physically read it...if you are close enough to the highway they may be able to read from there...I think they have about a 3/8 mile line of sight range.

REad it? Whats that? We have automatic reading meters now both gas and electric. They send a signal to a receiver, no more meter readers.

I think the 4-1/0 means the lug is suitable for wires as small as #4 or asl large as 1/0. Your 2/0 is too big.

You might be able to clip a few of the conductor strands is about same size as until the #2 will slide in. The arger wire will help you mi9nimize voltage drop, and you won't have to go buy more cable

For 100 A, in non commercial building, use 2 AWG aluminum or 4 AWG Copper .The gounding can be a size smaller.
In commercial buildings in which there can be a continuous load close to the limit step up a size.
Aluminum has a lesser conductivity than copper and it is much more prone to overheating thus the need for a bigger size than copper. When using aluminum it might be a good idea to use an antioxidant paste on the end of the cable.

other things make differences as well, in free air versus Nm (romex), in conduit (de-rated when over X number of conductors), direct burial, believe it or not, even attic temperatures should be considered when sizing a wire.

Can one still buy NM in the USA??? I thought NM was replaced by NM-B, some years back....

I think the difference is THHN vs TW or was it THW, its NM-B today but then GFI, AFI, it all gets abrreviated. Good catch though. :thumbsup:
