Hi All,

I have a new to me Massey 6255 with a Quicke Loader and third function valves. I'm trying to hook my hustler lx200 bale grab up to it and feel like I'm missing something to get it it to work.

The third function kit was already installed, and has 2 male ag connections.

That I converted to work with the flat face on the grabber, male and female

Question 1: Does it matter which is male, and which is female?

Third function valve has 2 what look like electrical connections, only one connected, and one place to connect them:

Following the grey wire that houses both of those leads takes you to a large 2-3" diameter fancy electrical connector near the hydraulic connection for the loader and the cab. This is connected. This then goes to the joystick in the cab. There is only one button to push on the joystick. Could this work to open and close the grab?

You can see there is another hole?

Anything seem missing or out of place? What am I missing? How could I check into it or test it out? Anyone familiar with Walvoil DFE141 (Walvoil DFE141 - Solenoid Spool Diverter Valves | Hydraulics Online Does it need electrical power and is not getting it?

Thanks for any thoughts!

Its a diverter valve.

Its likely diverting either your lift/lower or curl function.

So to get it to work....you have to push the button AND move the joystick to figure out which function was chosen to divert.

For your M/F connector question. It does not matter which is used where. There is no "convention" I am aware of. I put females on my tractor and males on my attachments. Then I use colored zip ties and dust covers to mark them.
Some like the idea of having a male and female on the attachment, so no confusion of which one connects to which on the tractor.

Your diverter does need power from your tractor. Are there any leads going to a power source? Maybe the unconnected red lead is for power in?
