2* Don't under estamate the BX1500 It is much more capable than that.

Yes I agree. I've run my buddy's 2230 and been impressed with what it could do. I should have more correctly stated I shouldn't need to use it for FEL, backhoe work, etc. The justification for the machine is 4WD. I've got some steep slopes to mow that are not fun on a standard mower plus a tad on the dangerous side. Add to that there are places the deck has to be raised due to the terrain. The Bride loves to mow but has a hard time with the manual handle on the old 48" Craftsman.

Hmm if I get something this nice then I'll want to mow. Starting to wonder how I can come out ahead in this deal.

I think your strategy is a wise one. For me? It is a grand too proud at $5500.
If they don't (shouldn't) sell it for that on eBay, yes, perhaps they will be in a more realistic mood. Do watch eBay, Craigs and so forth. I have been watching (all the time, as a kind of hobby). The economy is making for some much better deals on very similar tractors/mowers.

If it is a re-sale (pawn) shop, they may or may not be able to move on the price, I don't know.

Yes it's the same one. I'm going to watch it and see what happens. If no one bites the $5500 they'll be in more of a negotiating mode after the listing expires. If it gets away there will be others before the robins start singing.

It's across the state line so if I "take possession" of it in NC the VA sales tax may vanish in the transaction.

I was concerned someone was doing a scam and copied the pic or something. Waiting till the ebay sale is over is a good move. I hope you make a good deal.

I bought a used BX1500 with 100 hrs on it and it was in great shape and had a Grill guard on the front and a 54" deck. It was a castaway of JOHNTHOMAS
in the post before me(#8). Hey John how have you been? Back to the thread, I like the BX1500 and it is a tank it sticks to the hills and I have my Rear tires loaded. You would think the %$" deck would be to much for the 15HP but it does great. The only place you ever long for more power is when you are mowing up steep hills in thick/tall grass. Price of $5500 is not a lot high but in this economy I would try to negotiate it down a bit. I saw this unit on E-bay and I think it is the same unit you are looking at.

Kubota BX 1500D Tractor - eBay (item 320480890848 end time Feb-04-10 07:01:13 PST)

I'm feeling good DEX. I just cleaned my drive and brothers and street from snow. Posted pictures on FINDING WATER:):D:). The BX1500 is a working tractor and can't be beat as far as a tractor for mowing. It sticks to hillsides like glue and a couple hundred pounds of body weight leaning uphill made me feel confident about it's sticking power. I had bought it for my wife to help me mow because she said she was afraid of the B7800. Not sure she ever mowed with it but I did, actually about 100 hours worth.:).

I put about 50 more on it in since I have had it. It looks like I will be logging at least 40 hours a year on it. Its a great mower and I am glad I bought it.

Oops! It was FINDING BURIED PIPE where I posted the sunrise today and other pictures from today. Thought it might cool things down a bit over there.:)
