Control Question

   / Control Question #21
DND Pretty much raining and crapy out . The Wifey already asking to do her a favor:eek::eek: Oh no house work not again today. So I made a run for it. And I'll try to get back on topic.

California not sure of your set up is or if it's the same but this is what I did. My lift was still slow going up. I know still a little Ghetto rigged but it woks great now. If you look at the piston on the back valve Inn is up. So if you look close at the spring you can see were I shortend it and that made it fit snug on the Pin causing it to push in farther on raising. You might be able to do something to were yours is further away so it does not push in as much. Alright now no laughing but yes it does work much better.

   / Control Question #22
It is more for lowering SPEED control than lowering lock-out, although some manuals also suggest it's use during road travel or when trailering.
I can't see having a 3 pt implement anywhere but on the deck when trailering.
Some manuals also warn to NOT leave it shut tight during normal operation.

The usual suggested lowering speed is 3 seconds from max lift to touching the ground, it is generally not good to slam ground engaging implements (or mowers) into/onto the ground, better to let them penetrate at a controlled rate.

   / Control Question #23
Now I have a question:

On my YM240 I can feather the lift up and down to keep the box blade relatively even as I make a first pass over rough ground.

But on the YM186D it goes up so quick that it gets higher than I want instantly. Fiddling with the drop rate valve, I can't find a setting to grade earth smoothly.

1) is this normal, or is something misconfigured? 2) if it is normal, what technique do people use to grade evenly?

I'm about to put trainer wheels behind the 186D's blade so I can get some work done!

That's normal for the 186 unfortunately.
