Conversion of 3ph tiller to front mount

I am thinking of converting a 3ph tiller to a front mount. I was wondering if anyone had tried this. Is a different gear box required to reduce the pto rpms? Steiner has a front mount tiller but it is designed to be used with the tractor in reverse. I want one to work going forward.

You might want to look at one of the tillers used on a European walking tractor. You wouldn't be dealing with as much weight as a 3 pt unit but you could still get a tiller that goes up to 42" wide. Those are on the 14 hp walking tractors.

Look up a BCS dealer and get one of their brochures. One of those might be simpler to convert. The walking tractors have two speed ptos so one of the tillers might work on your machine without gear box modifications.

The top of the line 3 pt tillers have multible speed gear boxes. One of those might be usable if you can find one with the appropriate size and weight.

yea think about it, ya will be compacting the soil that ya just broke up and ya will have wheel tracks it it,not to mention that i would want the dust and everything behind me, not in front of me blowing back at me. whats wrong with having a tiller on the back anyhow?

I know this is a really old thread, but I recently bought a good used Kubota F2400 and would love to have a tiller attachment. Can you send me the details of how you made the conversion of your 3ph tiller to a front mount for your 2400?
