Conversion on a 3020 JD to put a alternator on it gas model

Should be relatively easy if you can find one that matches the holes so it will fit your brackets or build some custom brackets. I put a gm truck alternator on an old long 445. I used a self exciting (1 wire). It had a terminal to turn the light off on the dash once it was charging. You might have to hunt down another pulley. I did.

Check with DB Electrical. they make 24v to 12v conversion kits utilizing 12v alternator/bracket so they might would furnish parts needed. I'm thinking generator bracket will work if reversed & a pipe spacer is made for long alt mounting bolt
