I have a very nice but very under utilized Woods Heavy duty 6ft box blade. I have been mulling the need of a landplane... started to design one an then realized that maybe I should just cut my woods apart. Or maybe cut a "Spill Over" along with some bold on extenders.

Thoughts? Ideas?

If its a woods/gannon hydraulic sell it its worth more and can buy a nice pre-made one with the profit. I personally think you would be better of starting from scratch. Land planes have very long frames. A Box even like my gannon hxd industrial is probaly only half the length of my landpride grading scraper. A standard box blade is probaly 1/3 the length of a grading scraper.

You should be able to build a good lpgs for $125/ft of width, so a six ft can be built for $750. I would keep the box blade as is and if you don't have topntilt hydraulic hitch I would add it too.

If you can weld, you can build a land plane in a day or two. I built mine in about 10 hours at a cost of $287. In materials including quick hitch pins and adapters, and using AR steel for the blades

I would agree with the others , if it's a nice heavy Gannon or such I would try selling or trading for a factory built landplane. I don't see a box blade being very good as a starting base for a land plane, but if you could do a pull type conversion to your box blade that would help with driveway upkeep. Here is one I converted and it allows for still using as a 3pt.

IDEA: If you are building one consider getting a Box Blade cutting edge long enough to get an angle in your new frame. Also you could get BB rippers and add to the mix. That was on my drawing board before I sold the ranch.
