I checked out Hey Wheel but for 4 lug I only saw 5x14 and 6x14. Basically what is offered now for the Yanmar. I am wanting something with a wider stance. That is why i was looking at the 23x8.50x12. Can anyone tell me the size of rim that is on the Hoye tractor conversion for the Yanmar? I haven't been able to get to the page on their site all morning. I think it was either 8x12 or 10x12 rims.

Does anyone know if these wheels would work?

John Deere wheels

There just seems to be more options with a wheel of this size and the tires I have found exceed 1000 lbs capability. just not sure of the wheel strength.

Thanks,
Ben

I believe it is an 8x12 (I'll check tomorrow). I do know that we use the 23x850-12 tire on it though. We can make it to any backspacing that you want.

The Deere wheels in your link are 5 bolt. 1500D fronts are 4 bolt.

Arron, im thinking he was going to weld up 1/4 plate and redrill it to the yanmar spacing.

My Steiner uses 23x10.50x12 on 5 bolt rims. I purchased an couple of spares when i found them, and one set is exactly like the JD rims you mentioned in that link. Tires aren't worth much, but I found some tires on rims in Tennessee and had them shipped, so i didn't need the JD ones. Although the same size tire, it appears to be a mis-marked tire, measuring closer to 8.50 in width on the new ones. I replaced two of the rims on my Steiner, so those two are also out back.
I thought you were looking for 4 bolt rims, or I would have mentioned I have extra rims with bad tires.(all five bolt)

David,

I haven't been able to find any 4 bolt wheels that will fit my Yanmar. I have been looking at the 5 bolt wheels and will convert them to fit my 4 bolt pattern. Are you interested in selling the rims? If so, how much were you asking? What are the measurements for the rims? Could you send me pic of them?

Thanks,
Ben

Is the bolt pattern on the Yanmar millimeter or inches? I measured mine and I think it was just under 5 inches for the front wheels. I have seen some 12"x7" golf cart and 4wheeler wheels that are like 115... I converted it and and it is 4.52755 " and the ones that are 137 come out to 5.39370 " so I am assuming the 115 is about the right size. But I am not certain. I cannot find anything online as far as the bolt pattern measurements go.

Thanks,
Ben

California, you may have luck looking at some of the golf cart wheels that I've seen on small trailers for sailboats and the like. They're significantly wider than passenger car tires and can be had fairly tall. Most golf cart rims are 4 on 4" bolt circles.

Benhood, I measured my YM1401D and my YM240 rear wheels awhile ago for a member trying to make skidsteer tires work. The smaller tractor had a 6 on 4.5 inch pattern (approximately if not exactly) which matches with Dodge Dakota and some other small pickup and SUV wheels, while the YM240 had a 6 on 5.5 inch bolt circle, the same as Chevy and Toyota 4x4 wheels.

For the fronts, you should be able to get fairly accurate measurements. Many cars have a 4 on 4.5 inch pattern, but the center hub cutout may be different.

Having said that, unless you really have a need for the turf tires, I'd suggest just sticking with ag-type tires. For under 200 bucks you can replace both front tires and just be done with it.

Thanks. I might just go back with ag style tires but change them to the type that are not as aggressive as the rice tires. I have so much sand and dirt on my property that my Troybilt riding mower spins and gets stuck at times with the turf tires it has.

The JD rims aren't going to be used here, I have too many white ones for the Steiner, to worry about trying to cover yellow paint with white. Edit your profile with a location, so we can tell if it would be sensible to even consider shipping them. With my current work schedule, shipping them is going to have to be extremely easy or it isn't going to get done. I would seriously look for the suggested 4 bolt patterns, rather than welding up a 5 bolt.
