Cooper Discoverer vs. Yokohama Geolander

/ Cooper Discoverer vs. Yokohama Geolander #21
First impressions of the Yokohama Geolanders: Much quieter than I expected from an all terrain tire. Previous experience with BFG AT's and others had me anticipating a lot of roar. These tires are as quiet as all season tires. Vehicle ride is firmer, which I had hoped would be the result. The Goodyear SR-A's were too soft and bouncy for my taste. Overall, very pleased with my choice.

The last three sets of tires I've bought have been the BFG AT KOs. They have worked great in the snow and I have grown use to the noise. I would like to know what you think of the Geos after you get a little time and maybe a few snow storms under your belt. The BFGs are very expensive.

It sounds like you've narrowed it down; but I had 2 sets of Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo tires on my 2001 Silverrado that were nice. Good in snow and mud; cleared out treads; quiet on the highway; wore evenly; and diidn't hydro-plane.

I'll get them for the 2009 GMC when OEM Goodyear road tires wear out - maybe sooner!

I have the same coopers you have, and just had to go back in to be rebalanced for a severe vibration. The guy said he's had to rebalance a lot of coopers lately, thinks they are having some quality issues with these.,

My 05 Dmax and my neighbors 07 Dmax both had them and they wore out before 30,000 miles. Neither of us were impressed with snow or mud traction.

Cooper Disco's are pretty good...But BFG AT/TA's are top notch...If you want to pay for them.:(

Used to buy the BFG's when I was single and had disposable (read wasteable) income..Not no more. :D
