Today I had to stand on a tall extension ladder and cut through sheathing in order to install some new windows. A cordless saw is ideal for this kind of work, with two exceptions: To plunge cut, you need to retract the lower saw guard...hard to do when you want to hold onto the ladder with one hand. Finally thought of using the big yellow spring clip to keep the lower guard retracted. Secondly, for many of the cuts, having to press the red safety lock so I could depress the saw trigger was very hard on my arthritic right hand, so I drilled a tiny hole through the safety lock and inserted and bent a T-pin to hold the lock open. When the job was done, I removed the T-pin again.
I wish I had thought of the spring clip trick in the past, as I am always using a speed square for cutting with the saw and the blade guard would frequently hang up if I was only trimming off a small width of wood.
