corn harvest off to a good start

That’s how it is around here; some fields are doing great and others not so well. Beans are coming in at 9-10%. How are you for storage, herd that some elevators will not be accepting corn in another week or two because of problems caused by the hurricane.

Tate & Lyle will be closed the rest of the week in Decatur. Our local elevators are getting full and I was told that they will be closing by the middle of next week. Storage is getting real tight. We do not have enough bin space so we have been trying to get all we can to town so when they do close we can go back to the bin.

Yu could always haul it down this way to the river. I have not heard that the elevator at the Mississippi at Grand Tower, IL is closing. I believe Barge traffic is still moving.

Around me its bean being harvested. The only people doing corn are the dairy guys who take stalks and all for forage.
