I have several nurses in our family and am hearing that the mask shortage is now quite serious at local medical care facilities including the University of Washington. Staff are taking masks home and trying to wash and sterilize. I sure hope the supply chain for necessary masks is remedied very quickly.

Ohio Governor Dewine is currently holding a press conference with Lt. Governor Husted and the Director of the Ohio Department of Health.

The Director of ODH confirmed both mask and test shortages.

I didn't catch the beginning of it, but I believe Governor Dewine many have ordered more non-essential businesses shut down.

Here I Norway large parts of the society is closed, schools, kindergarten, most all hotels, all cafés and pubs etc is closed. People are forbidden to travel to theyr cabins, I would have traveled to my farm but it might cost me 1500$ in a fine if I do.

The oldest and weakest part of the population will be left to die, resources will be used on younger and productive members of the society, hope we don't get there but probably we will.

Large part of factory's and other businesses are closed, all that can must work from home, all children in school have to attend school over the internet. For the first time since 1905 we have military on the border to Sweden so it's strange, all borders are closed.

I'm vague on exactly what was said, but I thought I heard in a news conference that the government was asking Construction Companies to come forward with their supplies of masks? Something about dust masks used in some elements of construction are the type needed for health care personnel to protect themselves from Coronavirus? Maybe someone can clarify that better?

I think from what I understand N95's are a higher grade to surgical masks

CDC recommends an N95 respirator - not a mask - as the minimum against infectious particles/aerosols ...

big difference but I think mostly due to better fit.
Respirators are usually big and ugly. But makes sense they work better.
Good luck if you have a beard.
How big is a virus? Wondering what the micron rating needs to be to catch them.

My wife just informed me that FCA-Chrysler, Ford Motor and Chevy-GMC have unilaterally decided to shut all US manufacturing plants starting tomorrow, 3rd shift for at least 2 weeks.

I expect American Honda, Nissan and Toyota as well as Kubota and John Deere to follow suit.
