People are confusing panic and herd mentality...the latter is what causes the SO CALLED panic buying...not actual panic...!

That's called the American communities survey. It's by the census bureau. I get it every four years!! No lie. Every two or three I get the college grad census. And every few years I get the farm census. I am not kidding. It seems like Everytime I turn around I get a census of some type. They don't all come the same year so it's like every year I get one of some type. I called my senator this year for help. I am up for my Civic duty to be counted, my gripe was that I get every one. And also that I am being over sampled. I tried to explain this to the census worker one time who I was complaining to to ask to be removed and they said they couldn't. I told them your over sampling me and I am skewing results because I am in the pool every year. I said while we do live in this area I am not a true representation of the average person so I am not a good person to survey every time the survey goes out. I explained that my education puts me in the top 10% of people if not closer to top 5 and my income puts me probably in the top 15% and my home is pretty large, which that asks, and I have a longer than average commute, and I get more days off than the average person. All of these are questions that that survey asks. This is to get demographics for your area to help in Federal funding as well as just demographic information. So anyway o contacted my senetor's office. They say d they were able to have me removed from them after making a few calls. They thought it was strange I guess and that I was just complaining till I told them how many and how often I got each census.

How bout some good news? I went up to get the mail and the frogs are up and chirping, the flowering quince bush is flowering out and the forsythia bush's are in full bloom. There. some good news.

Wow! Only once have I gotten the long form of the 10-year census. Nothing aside from that in 55+ years since I used my parent's address. I file Schedule F (farm) on my income tax so I occasionally receive the farm annual survey, but I return it with a note that this would double-count data reported by the contractor who operates my orchard along with his own vineyard and a couple of other larger orchards.

I came out of the house awhile ago headed toward the shop and heard tree frogs croaking.
It's 65 degrees, heavy humidity and a stiff SW wind. Winter Storm Warning for northern half of Iowa, 2-4" of snow with 30-40mph winds tonight.

The turkeys are gobbling and strutting...all the songbirds are singing their mating calls...hang a ball cap on a rocker on the porch and in five minutes a wren will start to build a nest in it...!

Maybe it is like jury duty. It seems like once they find out you will show up your name gets on the list and you get called over and over. It is easier for them that way.

Which chain? None over here in the central valley seem better than any other. Not the crazyness of Costco/Walmart, but every store, dollar store, neighborhood market has some empty shelves.
