I dunno.......

What is it when people are pushing carts down the aisle with so many packages of terlet paper in the cart that the packages keep falling out of the cart and she has to stop and reload and re adjust every 5-10 feet?

I have seen that exact thing happen, and on that trip and other trips carts mostly full of TP, all I can think is that one of the symptoms of the virus must be uncontrolled shartting!!

Goes back to what I said when this whole thing hit the fan: the high transmissibility of this virus is a really big deal.

Although not necessarily highly lethal to everyone, it is extremely infectious ...

Unbelievable we actually agree on something.

How bout some good news? I went up to get the mail and the frogs are up and chirping, the flowering quince bush is flowering out and the forsythia bush's are in full bloom. There. some good news. :)

We heard our first spring peepers this weekend. Time for me to put out the barrels for the tree frogs. Last couple years they've been laying eggs in our pool cover. I transfer them to the barrels and feed them lettuce over the summer until they get legs and hop away.

Wifey did the census thing online last night. No census taker coming to OUR house..:) She said it took about 6 minutes. Piece of cake.

I have a retired neighbor that is a fairly big lib, and he was bragging a few months ago about working as a census supervisor.

I talked to him again last week, and he seemed disillusioned and had quit, I asked him if he didnt like working for Trump. He said no that wasnt it, he was working for America, but that the promises made to him was not being honored (he was going to have to go out and have meetings at peoples homes)

I'm laughing at the "no daughters in the house" comments!

Between my two grandpas, my dad, and me, there's 17 women. Cases and cases of TP were the norm. That, and spending a lot of time in the garage.

I feed 'em also. To my goldfish. Dang blasted things go after tadpoles like a school of Piranha.

Which chain? None over here in the central valley seem better than any other. Not the crazyness of Costco/Walmart, but every store, dollar store, neighborhood market has some empty shelves.

Not scientific but my comparison is between Safeway, Lucky, Walmart, Costco... all here in the Eastbay.

To be fair the Safeway's are smaller footprint but the shelves and cooler half empty with shoppers with carts stretching from front registers down the isles back to the meat department.

The Costco in San Leandro made national evening news as police shut it down several times due to gridlock extending back to the freeway.

The Lucky store just happened to be thier annual showcase week and they had laid in 20% more inventory as it was hosting regional manager meeting.

I was also impressed all the register belts were still wet with disinfectant which when I asked learned is done with clerk changes

We do not normally shop at Whole Foods. But they set up "seniors only" shopping at 8am-9am this morning. For safety they say. Presumably so old folks can shop without being knocked over by agitated hoarders. Anyway my wife went there today. The store was extremely busy, she says, but she got everything she needed and the only notable out of stock item was toilet paper. There were a few of the "me-me-me" generations who worked themselves in, no surprise, but for the most part was just seniors and well organized. The logic of 8am I think is that the store has been restocked overnight and seniors get first crack at the full shelves before the hoarders get going.

With all this eating at home, this is a good opportunity to get the 2018 produce out of my freezer used up. Normally we ate out a couple of times a week.

I took chloroquine with clarithromycin for two months for Lyme. Hard to tell what made me feel worse, the medicine or the illness. After two months the Dr. Said I was sicker than when I started so I stopped the treatment.

Safeway did that here on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Good idea.

Oh yes Duck . . . I've already delved into both freezers and have found several things!

Most of the chains are doing the same here for seniors. They are also all asking to try to refrain from using online grocery deliveries to enable servicing seniors and shut ins.
