You still have to touch the first one to do what you recommend. Why not just use gloves on the pump you’re going to use?

Less fire hazard that way too ...

Take disposable gloves to pump gas!

Article, 2016

"Gas pumps tend to be the dirtiest things a person touches. 71 percent of gas pump handles are highly contaminated with microbes associated with illness and disease, according to a study by the Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Our test result say the same thing.

"When we looked at bacteria levels based on colony-forming units (CFU) the number of viable bacteria cells on items commonly thought of as dirty, gas pumps and buttons were the absolute filthiest. On average, gas pumps have more than 11,000 times more bacteria than the common household toilet seat.

"And pump station buttons fare even worse: roughly 15,000 times more"

With the local COVID-19 patient news tonight I just when out and unplugged our Nissan Leaf and kissed her good night on the plug in lid for saving me from those dirty gas pumps. :)

Gotta admit the thought of only dealing with your own germs on your own electrical plug is kind of appealing. :)

Yeah. I saw this thread on the Chevy Bolt board with discussion like your comment, and then found its origin.

Thanks for the link. Now that we got the battery that bumped the range up to 150 from 107 miles before it started dying and was down to about a 60 mile range I really enjoy the Leaf a lot more.

Sadly price wise EV's can not be justified in many cases but if they are cheaper than gas cars in 2025 that will make a difference.

With the impact of the corona virus world wide more people are concerned with staying alive than cars. There may be enough new cars at the dealerships today to last for a few years when the repos are added to the pool of cars for sale. I am seeing this virus thing as something I never dreamed would be such a killer in the entire world in the matter of months.

I have a retired neighbor that is a fairly big lib, and he was bragging a few months ago about working as a census supervisor.

I talked to him again last week, he seemed disillusioned and had quit ... the promises made to him were not being honored.
I wonder if he's the guy who wrote this rant.

Might wanna grab some zinc to throw into the mix as well from what I hear (I linked to a medical study on the zinc aspect in another forum)

Of course, you should consult with your doctor on any of this.
Wow... been away from this thread all day and it took me a half hour at least to catch up... yeah my wife just sourced some zinc products for some reason. She is responsible for feeding me. :D

With all this eating at home, this is a good opportunity to get the 2018 produce out of my freezer used up. Normally we ate out a couple of times a week.
Need to practice first in/first out but it is hard. We just finished up our Hood Canal spot prawns from 2018... I think! Good thing is if you freeze right, you can get away with old food!

I hadn't noticed the 'eight weeks' before. This gives us some idea what to expect.

"Governor Newsom wrote. "In some parts of California, our case rate is doubling every four days. we have community acquired transmission in 23 counties with an increase of 44 community acquired infections in 24 hours. We project that roughly 56 percent of our population 25.5 million people will be infected with the virus over an eight week period."

Now just have her get you the other thing and you’ll be all set ...

I saw there was low priced gas in your state. It's probably cheaper to drive a gasoline powered car.

I read above that CA governor asked President Trump to put hospital ship off coast of Los Angeles... Washington governor also asked for hospital ship, park it in harbor at Seattle.. Seattle is hotspot for US, wonder who is going to get it..

"But there's enough in the whole country for the coming 10 years," he said. "We can all poop for 10 years."
That's good for the survivors.

Which locale will provide more votes in November?

Quick question. Why are all of our infection projections in the 50-150+ million US citizens, when China seems to hold steady at ~86K cases with a population over 3 times ours? I know we're not quarantining as seriously as China was (yet), but I don't get how these numbers are extrapolated over time unless they're basically saying that China's #'s will go back up once the quarantine is lifted.

It needing a $13K battery was a clue to the cost of driving an EV. :)

I believe a really big test is coming for the US. By that I mean our 2nd amendment is what’s at stake. For years the powers to be have wanted to take away America’s guns, but there isn’t enough public support for this. I fear that if things get really bad and many people are shot and chaos ensues then when the dust settles the public opinion will change against us gun owners. I believe this is the only way they can do it with us having the 2A. So my friends let’s all pray it doesn’t come to this, let’s pray that we can pass this test. Stay safe out there!

That's easy - they are an authoritarian government who quickly clamped down with some pretty draconian measures to prevent the spread and rapidly mobilized a fairly serious "public health-focused" response:

China’s aggressive measures have slowed the coronavirus. They may not work in other countries | Science | AAAS

I know we're not quarantining as seriously as China was (yet),

Heheheh ... yeah ... that's one way to put it I guess ...

No.

See above ...
