Correct Engine Oil for my Climate?

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( Personally, I would rather hear the "facts" on why 5w-20 oil is specified for certain engines from the people who did the specifying, not someone who sells Amsoil.

They always say, "one of the reasons...is fuel economy". I'll buy into that is "one" of the reasons but what are the others?

Don't have access to it right now, but I believe the daughter's Acura RSX manual and oil filler cap specifies 5w-20 ONLY. )</font>

Because its a HONDA engine..and thats what Honda specifys!! My wife has a Honda.....

What I sometimes do is drive up to Wichita Falls, spend the night there and then take 287 to Amarillo and then 40 to Santa Fe. Does Parker County still have that old courthouse that looks like the house in the movie Psyco? <g>

Probably not for the same reasons that Amisol wants you to use their 5W-20. 5W-20 or 10W-30, is there really that much of a difference that would cause engine damage?

Yep! It was once voted the most picturesque court house in Texas or some such.
