Why does it not surprise me one bit that Rotella is the oil of choice for good ole Sully2?!

I think you can find it for $2 a gallon at Big Lots. It might be used a bit, but so what, Rotella is so great it shouldn't matter any, right? Heck, the TBN will still be above 3.

You and I and everyone that reads you post knows that to be a lie! flat out lie! And YOU are the one that is saying Rotella is "so great"..I DIDNT..now did I?

And my reasons for buying Rotella? See above post! It does its job...is readily obtainable..and EXCEEDS the requirements of my engine(s)

While we're at it, can we bring up Harbor freight power tools vs. name brand, cheap heavy castings vs. expensive alloys, chain vs. gear tillers and lastly gear vs. hydro tractors?

Ole buddy, you are way too easy to get all worked up. You can research this forum from top to bottom and you'll never find where I have claimed Rotella to be a quality oil. It is what it is; period. Your reason for buying Rotella is easy; it's a cheap oil you can pick up at Wal-Mart. You don't need any excuse. It wouldn't raise my blood pressure one iota if you claimed that you found "the best oil in the world" for a dollar a quart and that all other oils were trash. It's actually funny to see your logic on oil. With Red Line, Royal Purple, and Amsoil being independently rated as the best synthetics available, you choose to bash Amsoil because you, incorrectly, feel that it is a pyramid marketing scheme. The real issue there is that Amsoil is less expensive than the other two by a considerable margin. I actually prefer Red Line, but not to the tune of $3 more a quart.

Sure sounded like it in that comment??

No..I wouldnt say Rotella is the "greatest oil in the world"..never did say that and wouldnt...because I openly admit I dont KNOW what the greatest oil in the world is..and could CARE LESS. I need a lube to do for me..what I need it do do..period. I dont require "the best"..and most probably neither do you...but liek some others ..you continie to chest beat that YOU have the best pubricant there is!

What I dont understand..bottom line..is why SO MANY AmSoil users have to continually rob threads to post THEIR VIEWS. This thread never was about a compariosn..but some have to get into it and again..cheast beat about how good THEIR product is.

As far as the pyramid selling scheme..is it..and there is no sense in debating that!

Red line and Royal purple..BOTH of which I uderstand to be very good products..ARE NOT AVAILABLE to me here!!! Lets get the "availabilty thing STRAIGHT..good lord dude!

As you stated.."I dont need any excuse"..period...then why is it Amsoil users ALWAYS seem to need some excuse to horn in on ANY thread dealing with lubes. There ARE some others out there ..you do know that dont you?..Other brands..both syn and dino that have MILLIONS of satisified customers..that have operated engines for BAZILLIONS of hours and never had any sort of problem.

Had I been able to use my FIRST CHOICE of oils..but I dont have a heated barn to keep my tractor in..Id have chose Chevron 15W-40..

So..your excused now..go and pester someone else..or find another lube thread to make your sales proclaimations in. Your done here!

Don't ever buy a beer or an auto then. Do you think the person who would sell you either of those would be a the actual manufacturer?! I'm sorry to inform you, but it doesn't work that way. You won't even buy from a jobber or distributor. You will purchase from an end retailer; someone who deals directly with the public. Everyone along the chain of distribution earns some money along the line. That fits what you are considering a pyramid scheme. I suppose you ought to buy only from the Amish community if the distribution chain of products so deeply concerns you.

Who died and left you the keys to the castle?! The last time I checked, you are not only not an owner of this forum or a moderator, but only a relatively new user with some attitude issues. Nothing personal pal, but I don't think you will ever tell anyone when they are "done" here on this forum. Have you any issues understanding that? I've reviewed the rules of posting here, I suggest you take the time to read them.

You go on and insult people all over this forum with your superior knowledge. Apparently you have some personality issues you need help with because if anyone on this forum even mentions "Amsoil" along with any other oils, you seem to lose your grasp on reality.

With your "availability" issue, may I suggest you learn to use the internet for things other than insulting people who may not agree with you. My 6 year old can find either Royal Purple or Red Line readily available for purchase in about two minutes.

Since you state your opinions as fact, name them; the names of the oil companies and testamonials of the "millions of satisfied customers". How about just names, addresses, and their comments about what specifically they are satisfied.

For the original poster, I think your dealer is giving you good advice. In your hot climate it wouldn't hurt to run the 15w40 in the summer months. By changing oil twice a year, the brand or type of oil you use shouldn't matter as long as it is diesel rated.

Not sure about that Egon....but if it can be extracted from *BS*..there's enough of a source on this BB to rival an oil cartel!....LMAO

I use Mobil 1 15w50 synthetic out here in the SouthWest. It may not be the greatest oil but I like the viscosity range. Our Winters are very mild (rarely gets to freezing) but our Summers exceed 115°F on many occasions. I use it year round.
