It would probably work James. But since your trailer has the potential to have ten ton on it I'd consider building it out of some really heavy materials. Otherwise it'd dent and or bend and not be worth a flip.

OK thank Harv. I was guessing scoring it then using a wire cup brush on the grinder. The putty knives sound like a much easier solution /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sure is nice when you can sell a product with an inherent defect and then tell the customer that he will have to pay for the corrective repair. If I were him, I would take the selling dealer to small claims court along with the pictures. Don't know if the Federal Government still requires the body builders to certify that they are safe for the road any longer, but they did 35 years ago when I was in the business. Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Act of 1967. A trick like that could cost you your license and you were out of business.

Nice job! Too bad about the tire, I know how you feel. I've had my share of paychecks go south due to the OOPS! factor.

Nice documentation of the augmentation! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just find the customers unfamiliarity with you unbelievable. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Hi Harv,

What's the blanket you draped over the wheels, cotton?

It's a non-asbestos fire blanket. They burn first. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The reason the tire lit up was because I didn't think (got it?) that a dingle berry would fall through the gap I had in the area to be welded.

One did. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

You'd think it was factory. Once again, nice work.
