What would be a fair price for a new 2120? I know the 20 series has been replaced but my dealer has a new (100 hours) 2120 with fwd and a loader. My thinking is that it should be considerably cheaper than the new equivalent. Besides, I don't like the muffler setup with the new ones.

The 2120 is a great tractor and brings a high price. Used 1920's with over 500 hours bring over $15k around here. I would not be surprised to see that machine sell for $20- $22k
First things first. Now THAT is a funny quote. Of course, everyone that thinks it's funny also thinks it doesn't apply to them. I guess that's better than being offended by it.
My dealer is asking 19.5K for the 2120. I have two already actually and was figuring on having to trade one of them in on a 45 or 48. But I showed up and he has a sparkling new 2120 on his lot. Looks kind of out of place really next to all the sloped hood tractors. I'm thinking of offering 19K. Maybe in this area people want the new ones more which is why this one is still here.

The 20 series was a great line for Ford/NH and for $19.5k I am surprised it is still sitting on the lot. Each area is different though and up here a lot of small farmers run compacts in their orchards and vineyards and want the tried and true 20 series over the newer TC which drives up the cost of the older tractors.

What are you going to do with your old 2120. I'd be interested in talking about it before you trade in as I would like another. It's a shame you have to move all the way into the TC55 in order to get the HSS now.
This one has 1200 hrs. but it looks new.

The HSS is very nice, but its the frame and weight that matters. The 2120 is one (if not the best tractor) For/New Holland ever made (right up there with the 8N). The TC48 and TC55 appear to be the same frame.. (right down to many of the castings being the same). The 2120 is a big step up from a TC45. I have had my 2120 since 1987 and it is worth more now that I paid for it then. One of these days I will posting a website as to what you can accomplish with a 2120. I was looking at pictures the other day and even though I was in the seat running the machine, I am suprised at some of the projects I have been able to accomplish.
BTW, I am in the process of falling bach on my 2120 for most of my work, and will be selling my almost new (198 hour) TN75D to purchase a compact excavator. The TN75D is a great tractor, but for my uses (and limited funds) a compact excavator fits the bill better.

What I really need for mine is a set of R4 or R1 rims and tires. I would have to have the disc/hub custom made for the R4's or buy the 2120 stock rims and hubs for the R1's. When I have the BH mounted it is very wobbly in the rear due to the high sidewalls of the rear R3's. The fronts are bobcat R4's
