I'm not sure why they call it beet juice either. I know that they make the stuff from beets, but I'm not sure it is actually the "juice" of the beet.

It is my understanding that it is made from beet juice, but compounded with other materials. Here is a link to one of the manufacturers of a beet juice product, RIM GUARD
Notice on their material data safety sheet that they only list "compound mixture" for the ingredients.
John
EDIT: There is also a good inflation chart on their site. J

RimGuard cost me $2.00 a gallon in Conn. It does taste and smell a lot like molasses. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

If it tastes and smells like molasses, I wonder how well of a cookie it would make. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Recieved quotes from two Dealers on adding Rim Guard to rear tires of L3130: $300 and $250.

I wonder if you had a leak in your tire full of that stuff, would your cattle or horses try to eat your tire /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mmmm... Good question. I'll have to run that by a friend of mine who has a bunch of cows. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

so if it basicly is actual beet juice then what is it that keeps it from freezing anyhow, seems that it would still freeze wouldnt it, i mean most fruit juices and such freeze since ya can make popsicles outa them, otherwise i would be lookin at the clearance stuff at the grocery store to fill my tires with cheap juice, hmmm maybe apple juice tires, or course if ya got a leak it might attract some animals but better than killin anything, but unfourtanatly im pretty sure apple juice freezes, altho if it was allowed to ferment and turn into hard cider would it then not freeze cause of the alchol in it maybe? just some thoughts i had, im gona have to try freezin some different beverages in the freezer now and see what happens, seems beet juice cant be the only juice that doesnt freeze, i know beer sorta turns to a slush but doesnt freeze solid, and a slush would be fine in a tire, of course not that i could find enough cheap beer to make it cost effective to fill a tire with it, but its an idea, no one said it was a good idea lol!

Wow! Funny how you got from beets to apple to apple cider, to frozen beer. Keep going, the tequila can't be far behind!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Seriously Mark, I don't think it's pure beet juice in the Rim Guard. The must use something else for antifreeze, but I honestly don't know what it is. I imagine beet juice alone would freeze. John
