yea too many rambling thoughts when i post late at night!!! but it has me wonderin about what sorta juices dont freeze, theres a few concoctions in my freezer right now that i gota check on tonight when i go home, thing with filling tires is that even if it turned a little slushy it would be ok just as long as it didnt get solid, next time i open a jar of beets i am gona save the juice they are in to see if it does infact freeze, not to that im gona eat enough beets to be able to fill a tire with the juice lol, just a curiousity thing

Mark,
Fill the tires with Moohshine, that way if you puncture it you can have a leak party /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think it is a by-product of beet juice production, most likely a saturated sugar solution. Yes, it will HARD freeze at some remarkably low temperature, but it probably has a mush/slush temperature that is way low enough.
I'd guess you could do the same with cane sugar & water, though I've no idea what that would cost.

I found this post to be very entertaining. Thanks for the heads up on the chart on the Rim Guard site. That's what I have in my L3400.

The earlier price of $2.50/$3.50 per gallon sounds high. I paid $200 juice and labor to load both rears on my 4310.

Looked into this option here in N.E. PA and was quoted $4 per gallon and I need 100 gallon, plus you have to take the tractor to them which is about 25 miles for me.

I can drive the tractor to my local tire shop which is about 3 miles for me and install WW fluid plus tubes for $300, if I wanted to go with cal/chlor I could save another $50.

Found this statement:
"Don writes:
Menthol Hydrate can be found in most Hardware, Automotive and Lumber Stores. Example: Canada: Canadian Tire Stores - U.S.A.: Home Depot, Walmart. Cost: 1 gallon would make 16 pints of gas line antifreeze. Two pints is sometimes sold for as much as an entire gallon could be purchased! It can be substituted for those very expensive and tiny bottles of gasoline anti-freeze. No need to dilute it because it is basically the same solution."

Fifth Weekly Tips Archive, Page Four

Might be a good suggestion. I was going to suggest either antifreez at 50/50 but i think that's expensive. Also i see Hendro posted about windshield wiper fluid which i believe is water, blue colour, and denatured alcohol. You can get denatured alcohol by the gallon at Home Depot. (glass cleaner).
maybe someone can mix water and denatured alcohol in various percentages and put them outside overnight to see which freezes at what temperature?
you know, you guys in Wisconsin ;)

Good luck you Jack Kerouac Beetnik's..!
