Cost of John Deere parts

It's been forever since I bought a new alternator or starter. I always take them into get rebuilt at a local rebuild shop. Much cheaper!! Plus I still have the OEM part!

My 15 yr old 47" snowblower blew up on me ( gear box ). I took it into jd dealer to see about repair. They wanted $1900.00 to fix the old one, and brand new one here sells for $2300. What that translates to is the gear box is 83% of the cost of a new blower, totally ridiculous. They just wanted to make a sale on a new blower. They said the gear box alone was $1400.00 if I wanted to repair it myself.

I laugh at John Deere's pricing, I can beat there prices all day long and even get them in there boxes at a cheaper price as well. If you need something please feel free to ask or send me a message.
