The wheels might be a problem in the snow. I've only used the bare rake to plow/rake snow.

Tried my rake in snow. Moves snow with ease. Only 5' wide I find it a little narrow to get the best angle with a wide first pass. A few small modifications will correct it.

I've got to try that rake thing in the snow, heard plenty of people here recommend it but still can't get my head around the idea, I'll just have to try it. I've got a 6' landpride with wheels

I have a long gravel drive to my shop in the back and large gravel storage areas, I waste a lot of time back blading with 3pt plow and it still doesn't come out to good then I'll go at it with the bucket and even though I know better I'll try to get down close and end up with a bucket of gravel and scalped edges.

Your first pic looks very similar to my drive after I blade it in reverse...if there's too much ice or hard-packed snow that keeps me from climbing the drive uphill, I use the same Landpride rake you have and go over it a few times forward & reverse. Chunks it up without ruining the base...works for me...give it a try...can't hurt.

Hi guys, old thread.... Anyway looking for a set of gauge wheels for my Woods rake. Wondering which would be easier to modify for it? Tatar or King Kutter wheel kits anybody done this?

At some point, Woods changed their rake design so trying to modify the newer gauge wheel style to fit your older rake would probably be difficult.

The design of the York rake gauge wheels might be easier to modify.

It's difficult to tell from the pic what the bolt hole spacing is on the mounting plate but with any luck, it would match the 2" spacing on your Woods. If so, you could knock out 2 tine rivets on each side and use bolts to mount the wheel brackets in the existing holes.

The down side is the cost. Replacement York wheels will cost far more than the King Cutter.
