I would not put a Fram filter on my wheelbarrow.

Keep in mind that in all applications, fram is not the demon it is made out to be.

There are particular applications, where a fram outperforms napa / wix filters, and in thos same applications, running a napa / wix filter can actually -cause- engine damage....

Just ask an Allis chalmers person about this...

more than once over the years i have seen filters BLAMED for engine failures. only once have i seen a filter company pay a claim for an engine and it was fram. so many opinions against fram. i don't own an allis chalmers so i'll play the odds and stick with oe or wix.........

The other thing to remember is that the New Holland engine oil filter is now made with synthetic filtering media instead of the standard paper found in most filters.

The common fram oil filter for allis chalmers tractors is still manufactured virtually identical tot he old A/C filters.. it is a can stuffed full of filter'yarn' (floss) and has a perferated cap with ahole for an oil tube. Most of the cross over filters, including napa / wix.. have converted this to a paper media... pressure and valving muck it up... usually you end up with an AC with little to no oil pressure after installing a NAPA filter.. only fix is to immediatly install the fram.

On some of my oldies.. I also don't mind using a fram as a first change filter.. like a c-3 or c-3p for an old Ford... it's a 3.99 filter and I can use it as the first change and run some fresh inexpensive supertech oil thru there for a few hours to clean it up a bit.. then do another change with my regular valvolene and a napa 1010g.

It's a partial flow system anyway.. like most oldies...

while we are on the filter topic, I have looked up all the filter #'s on the WIX site for my 1320, however, it does not list the additional cartridge hydro filter used in the HST system. Does anyone have the cartidge # or a competitor' x-ref?

I tried to cross my NH filter numbers at Napa and car quest.... neither had the fuel filter cross.. or hydro filter.. and only could cross the outer air filter.. not the inner. i just ge tthe fitlers from NH.. easier..
