How does the use of a subframe mounted backhoe compare to the use of a 3PT hitch mounted implement when used to offload the weight on the front axle when operating a FEL? Assume that the back hoe and rear implement both weigh 1500 lbs. This is for a TC55 with a 759C hoe.

Going to be roughly the same. Benefit will vary only to the extent the fore & aft and vertical centers of mass vary between the backhoe and the unspecified 1500lb 3 point mounted implement. The benefit of 1500lbs versus the benefit of 3/4ths of a ton.

On smaller tractors a backhoe will substantially shift the weight center toward the back making the front end light or lighter. Rick may very well be right on the size of tractor that you have.
