Tractor
L39 Kubota
Hi
I've been running my L39 for while now ( 100 hours ) and the drama of the 1 wheel in the air as you drop the bucket real quick is no longer fun.
I bought the tractor last year and the guy I bought it from said the tires were filled. My questions are:

1: How can you tell if the tires were filled?
2: Kubota says 450 KG +/- 1000 lbs for counterweight, should I back off from this recommendation if the tires are filled.

Was going make a wooden form and fill with +/- 8 cu ft of reinforced concrete.

Thanks kindly for the advise

You can tell the tires are filled by putting the valve stem at 6 o'clock and pressing the schrader valve, If fluid comes out they are likely filled.

I take it you have an L39 without a hoe?

The hoe weighs about 825 KG and I have another 350Kg of wheel weights. so I advise about 10 Cu ft of concrete for ballast with loaded tires. Get the tractor near 8,000 Lbs for best stability.

Tap the valve on the tires with a screwdriver or something. if liquid sprays out, they are loaded. As a practical matter it doesn't matter what direction they are pointed.

Tire/wheel ballast never makes up for proper ballast on the rear. Think of a loader like a fat kid on the teter totter. You need another fat kid on the other end, not sitting on the pivot in the middle.

Hi Mike

Thanks to you and others for the info.
My L 39 does not have a backhoe. I can't believe the loads you have pictures of, way way more than I now get. If I have a full bucket of wet clay I have to dump some out and have the bucket real close to the ground to safely traverse fairly level ground.

So I'm going to make a form +/- 18" X 30" X 30" to fill with 9.3 cu.ft. of concrete. I hope the pto will lift it.
The transfer station is across the road from me (got dump envy :D ) and have scales so out of curiosity I'm going to check it out and see how close I am to 8 k.

Thanks again for the advice.

Note I have custom 60MM Lift and 65 MM curl cylinders so I lift a few hundred pounds more than OEM 55mm Lift and 60mm Curl.
