Counterfiet filters

Sawworcs - No, you are right and I did not express myself correctly. The $100 I speak of is just for the various filters - DEFINITELY NOT the oil too. Although I do use "Kubota oil" also. Its no more expensive than other top branded oils.

Lets face it - equivalent sized tractors regardless of color use - basically - the same filters for air, engine oil, hydraulic oil and fuel. Is there any valid reason that there should be such a wide price difference?? Somebody is getting ripped off - whether the filter comes from the dealer or an aftermarket manufacturer.

I agree, but there is no way around it. I don't want to jeopardize any warranty issues. This is the first 50 hour service.

I think there's some law that says you don't have to use a manufacturer's parts to maintain warranties, but to me the real issue is that Kioti is raping customers with that price. Do they do that on all their parts? Maybe this is how they recover some extra profit after selling tractors at a lower price point. I don't think I have paid more than $50 for an OEM hydraulic filter before, even on a pricy brand like Deere.

The law I assume you are referring to is the Magnuson-Moss warranty act.No different I guess than Kubota Rapes there customers on super UDT fluid at $55 per gal.IMHO it is a conspiracy

It must be a HST filter thing.
The hydraulic filter for my gear model DK 35 is around $35.

The DK's HST filter is the expensive one. The last I bought was $140 Cdn I believe. It is not like a normal filter. It is narrow but very heavy and made with thick steel. I think it operates at the full hydraulic pressure. It is a MUCH different construction than other filters.

On the other hand, the CK series filters are a much lighter, normal type construction and priced like other filters.

Other than the expensive HST filter, the lighter hydraulic, engine, and fuel on the DK seem in the same price range as other filters.

The HST filter is on the pressure side of the pump therefore built heavier. Most filters are on the return side.

I thought changing the oil's on my Harley was expensive. I can hardly wait to get after it on my tractor. I'm up to 25 hours so I have a little ways to go. Better save up :tractor:
