Country music is dead?

My favorite country stars are Juliette Barnes, Rayna James, Scarlett O'Conner, Deacon Jones, Gunner Scott and Beau Hutton.

I prefer bluegrass to "country" for the last few years, particularly since we have kin and neighbors that are heavily involved in bluegrass. "Country" has become way too over-produced, commercialized, and rock-flavored for me. But I still appreciate that there are generally recognizable instruments and lyrics. With bluegrass, it still feels like real people, real instruments (generally masterfully played) and real stories in the lyrics. It is alive and well in central (and eastern) TN! There's a real good Bluegrass Music program at ETSU.
