Consider this one point, while the Kubota may be assembled here from parts made in Japan, the profits go back to Japan. Depending on the model, a JD may be assembled there or here, but the profits come back to a company based in Illinois and are dispursed through that community. Last time I checked, Illinois was still part of the USA.

I have always been a buy American guy and for the most part I still am. ( I don't see me ever owning a Nissan or Toyota) When I was tractor shopping i researched all the brands that are available for purchase in my town with the exception of Mahindra for 2 reasons 1 My uncle had one that I had operated so I felt familiar with them 2. I did not like the people at the Mahindra dealership so therefore they didn't really have a shot to sell me a tractor. Ok so now that I have said all that I say in my research i found the only Made in America tractor was ( December 2010) the John Deere M series IE 5085m 5065m ect. Those tractors are made in GA the John Deere D/E series is made in India as well as the New Holland Workmasters (among others). After all my research I bought the Kubota M6040 MFWD and will be happy to take on the challenges of any other comparable tractor.
