County/State Fair Prices

Has anyone bought/negotiated for thier tractor at local county/state fair, did you get a better price there than at the dealership?

I got a "fair special" at the Western Washington State Fair on a B7500, ended up buying a B21. About a 6 months later I bought the B7500 (wifes tractor) for less money, same dealer.

Either the fair special wasn't so special or they like dealing with women better/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

If anything, I would guess you might get a worse price quote at a fair. The reason I think it is fair to say that is because it would probably be fair for dealers to assume that fair attendees are fairly casual in their purchasing interest, so they would give a better price to someone who shows a fair share more interest by showing up at the dealership on a non-fair day.

A "fair price" will depend upon some of the following:

Supply and demand for the model you are interested in.
Local competition.
Dealer inventory level and season.
Individual you are dealing with (salesman - manager - owner)

There is no reason for a dealer to give away a product if he does not have to. The only way to determine if you have received a "fair deal" is to shop around. Most importantly, plan to pay a fair price for fair service after the sale. Most dealers consider buyers seeking the rock bottom price as buyers that will never be satisified and continual owner relations problem--business most dealers will gladly pass on.
Once you know what your market area prices are, you will then know if you are getting a "fair deal." Your dealer has to make a fair profit to stay in business.
