Just another small update. Had a friend translate the label next to the control I've been seeking info on and received the translation last night. The label says "external oil pressure" and OFF/ON. Now I have a new question, what external oil pressure?

I guess a final update. Took a panel off the tractor and did some crawling under it as well. Turns out this control/valve I've been wondering about in this thread is connected to the valve assy that controls the hyd cyl on the 3pt for tilt adjmt that is part of the UFO control system. Wonder why they needed a valve for this. Sure seems like a spendy valve to open/close a fluid path that needs to be always open.

the valve in question controls an auxiliary hydraulic outlet on the side of the transmission. I run a FEL off this outlet.

Daviduts,

Welcome!

This must be on your F18D??
I would like to see a picture of your tractor, including the plumbing for the FEL. It is the first time I've heard mention of any implement connected the way you have done. If you (can) post a picture it may help me, Mickey and others.

Maybe in the end what I'll find out is the draft control only functions with the correct tiller and nothing else. But I'm still going to pursue finding out how this all works. Wish the draft control was more convientional in operation then Soundguys comments would be more helpful to all.
I am sure that you will classify this the same as soundguy’s comments. There are two types of draft control. They both have the same end results. If Soundguy wasn't told to shut up, he could have told you what draft was and how it worked. The very same things can be found in other forums with a little searching.

Mark, I bought the F18D about 4 years with a homebuilt FEL on it, from a privite indivdual , it was plumbed this way when I got it. There 2 hydraulic lines that come out of the right side of the tranmission about 4inchs above where the gear/range selector goes into transmission. I have the plugs that came out, they are 27mm(1 1/16) hex heads. Its very tight in there, I will have to remove some sheet metal to get some pictures. The hoses then quick connect to a Prince 2 spool loader valve. When loader is on the tractor the valve under the set is open, when loader is removed (prince valve stays with loader) the valve under the set must be closed. I will post some pics of the setup when I get them. Hope this helps

Here is a picture of where the connection is. If you take the sheet metal cover off that is under the seat and look at the side with the shifter you will see this block. The connection you see is the pressure line and the and the return line is directly behind this line.

Dave,

Thanks for taking the time and effort for the picture. It goes directly in my mind file for alternatives on future applications. Nothing beats a clean (Tidy) installation that duplicates a factory look.
