If you want to protect the metal from the treated wood, get some self adhesive window flashing tape. Works great to protect steel from treated wood.

Yep, same stuff as the window flashing but labeled for decks. I used it when I rebuilt my deck last year too, covering the tops of beams an joists. When I first built the deck I used it sparingly, and when the deck rotted out I found those protected areas like new yet. So I used a lot more on the rebuild.

I’ve heard roofers talk about using Ice &Water Shield just 3 feet from the bottom who are now putting it over the entire roof decking. It’s good and doesn’t cost that much extra in the long run.
