Backhoe Couple of BX24 backhoe questions...

im sure alot of you will disagree with me but one thing i always did with my bx was get all 4 tires off the ground. Use the front loader to raise the front end up and the outriggers to raise the rear up and start digging.

I've never tried a BX24 but getting at least the rear wheels off the ground on level surface is the most secure way to go IMO - all four with that light a tractor "balancing" on the loader should be nice too

That's exactly what you're supposed to do... not only gives you the most stability but the most leverage for digging since the FEL is further away from the BH than the front wheels (the only way to increase your leverage would be a heavier tractor). Consider which offers the most ground contact and is more stable for the front end: a nice, wide, solid, firmly-planted FEL bucket or a pivoting front axle with little rubber tires?

Would it also slow down the controls to have oil pumped out to the loader? I don't know, but maybe.

Nope, once you let go of the joystick, the FEL cylinders are "cut off" from the rest of the hydraulic system, nothing is being pumped to or from them - has no bearing on how the BH works. This is how open center hydraulics work. Fluid circulates in & out of all control valves (spools) in the loop evenly (e.g., FEL or BH) until you move a lever to open one of them and divert fluid into/out of a cylinder.
