The old Farmall owners manual circa 1942 says to NEVER chain railroad ties to the back wheels when you are stuck. Any time an owners manual tells you not to do something, it must work pretty well but be dangerous. Have you considered chaining a railroad tie to the back wheel? I suspect you should not go over 1/2 turn on the tire. I am afraid I would try it before leaving the tractor stuck for 6 weeks.![]()
Yep, I tried that another time, but the post I used was just driven deep into the ground. (and remains there)
I have seen a russian video where they chained a large pole to the outside of the wheel and drove the tractor out using the pole as a paddle stick.
