Edward - don't those mudders change your gear ratios? Those are some treads, there!! :D

Probably have a pretty good "top-end" speed - but, maybe a bit slower comin' outta the hole!!

AKfish,
I was impressed with the 16x16 transmission. It does have some tall gears. On the top end, my 5M will run 21 mph. I hardly ever "drive" my tractors down the road. If I have to go very far at all, I have a 1 ton and a 25' gooseneck trailer. But, if I need to run a mile or two, it sure is nice to have the speed.

Congrats on your new toy. I'm glad you think the extra $ for the M was worth it.
I have been struggling trying to convince myself that it is better to wait a few more months to order an "M" rather than buying an "E" now.
Tell us again it is worth the extra $, lol.
I'm very glad for you,
MWRR

If you spend much time "in the saddle," you better believe it's worth it.
So you don't forget, here are just a few of the advantages of the 5M series over the E's:
Electronic, shift-on-the-fly MFWD
Electro-hydraulic 3-pt hitch option (includes fender mounted buttons that let you raise and lower the lift arms without climbing back into the cab)
16 gears instead of 12.
Greater lift capacity on 3-pt hithc.
Lower link draft sensing, not top link.
Adjustable sway bars, not chains.
Higher capacity hydraulics.
Tighter turning radius.

Do you want me to go on? :D

That's good info. I had a chance to give a new, 5105M a good "once over" - actually more that just one look...

And it was detailed with the 32x16 and the optional 3 rear spool SCV's and those big fat Radials!!

Made me kinda question sticking with the 16x16 tranny. Had to draw the line somewhere... but my fields are small and I don't need to roll anywhere that's a fair distance away - just couldn't see how that overdrive was a gotta have option.

Better line up for at least a mile long race - you might come out on the short end of things if you're racin' a quarter mile... :dance1:

Not a bit, my 6420 accelerates hard. 0-20 Mph in about 15 seconds

AKfish,

Who are you calling BIG and FAT? ;) I represent those remarks!

Mine came with the "big fat radials" too. This is the first tractor that I've ever had with radial tires. I think it's a big plus. Much better ride, better traction, and they say that tire life is greatly increased. I may not live long enough to prove that one. :D (I've never worn out a set of tractor tires)

Well...spent a few hours behind the wheel yesterday. This is the first tractor I have owned with a power reverser...OMG, how did I live without it? Took a little pratice to know when to shift it to make everything nice and smooth, but once you get the rythem down, its very nice not to have to use the clutch, or even the brake most of the time!...prob my favorite feature so far. One thing I did notice that's not that big a deal, is that when I use the 540E mode on the LX6 brush hog, it vibrates like crazy...shift up to reg 540pto and I didn't even know it was running...like I said, no biggie.

good looking tractor ,congrads to you. imyself looked at the m series but i couldnt justify the difference in price , so i bought a 2010 5093 E series, with a 553 FEL. a good tractor , bias tires .the only thing i would change is tires i would have liked radials but this tractor was on the dealers lot and he said it would be a few months to get what i wanted . so i opted for this tractor, its been very good so far the only thing i had added to this machine was control to slow or speed up the shuttle shift. you can adjust the shifting response fast or slow to your likeing or job. it does very well and can be installed in the field , the dealer installed mine in about 1hr ,in the field for me ,saved the hassle of going back to the dealer, he said they sell alotof this addition ,said he didnt know why deere didnt make or supply it on all the models. its really nice and does make a difference with a front end loader. good luck with your new tractor you got a nice 1.
