Got back from an eight day vacation on Sunday and my wife was complaining about a sore throat. She went to the doctor Monday and checked positive for Covid. And positive for Strep!

Doctor said I would probably come down with it in a week or so.

And our daughters had scheduled a 'Tea' to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday the 11th. So there is a frantic effort underway to notify everyone that the 'Tea' has been postponed until September. Bunches of people invited, some from out of town. And a general invitation put out on many Facebook pages.

CRAP! So I'm having to do all the picking, cleaning, canning, and freezing of the garden stuff. Plus laundry, cooking, cleaning, mowing, and other stuff. Division of labor really means something around here. And we cannot babysit the 14-month old granddaughter. Wife feels really bad and I am hindered in doing chores because I don't like leaving her by herself even though I don't want within ten feet of her. At least I'm not having to race her to get on the mower to mow.

Oh well.

Could be worse.

Sorry to hear about the Covid. I'm just getting over it and my wife is about half way through it. For me, it's about done after one week. It's nowhere close to what it was the first time when I was off work for 6 weeks. It's not even as bad as a strong cold, but it's still frustrating not being able to do anything.

Do you have KP.2 or KP.3? the main difference seems to be that KP.3 hits your gut too. We're lucky that didn't happen, it's just been the very sore throat that lasted three days, then fatigue, runny nose and a cough. We have KP.2

I hope that she recovers quickly and you avoid it!

We seem to get it every time we travel. Get well soon.

I travel for a living so it's tough to avoid people. I've had it three times now, round 2 and 3 were after there was a vaccine. The first one was pretty bad, sickest I'd been in many years if not decades. Second and third time after getting the shot (which was somewhat outdated by the time I got it) were about the same as a moderate bout of the flu. Not pleasant but not terrible and the worst of it was over in 2 or 3 days.

I think this has just become one more regular illness that makes the rounds now that most everyone has had it and/or a vaccination and has some level of immunity. It seems on par with the various flu variations that make the rounds.

Like the flu, it is the elderly and compromised that will be the most affected and unfortunately sometimes succumb so while it's an inconvenience for me, it those people I need to take care not to pass it on to... Just like a cold or flue.

After reading a couple of these posts I’m going clear out the toilet paper isle. ;)

Sorry yall are sick and hope it clears up soon.
The comical thing is that Covid typically doesn’t cause digestive issues. My experiences were head cold/sore throat/coughing/headaches. Never had a need for excessive TP usage.

The big difference between Covid KP.2 and KP.3 is the digestive issues with KP.3 If you get the runs, you got 3
Oh man. Now that’s really a bummer. I’m glad that we installed a bidet toilet seat during Covid round 1.
