We have a pack of something or another I've always assumed were Coyote that pass through (or at least makes their presence known) every couple weeks. I'm within the region that article mentions they have "pushed into". Makes me wonder... Couple months back I was treated to about an hour of the death screams of one of my neighbor's cows about 3/4 mile up the road while trying to go to sleep. Needless to say I didn't sleep well that night...
