Oh and there is one more thing... Don't even think of trying to weld it with a 120 volt welder.:censored::hissyfit::anyone:[/QUOTE]

Sure you can you just need to get one of the resident 120 v mig experts to do it. Sodo I think this is a project just calling your name so you can prove all the experts wrong. :roll eyes:

Sorry after all the jibersh lately I couldn't help it.

Those cracks in the AR plate are definitely the result of improper welding and preheating when welding on the bucket tooth. Likely no preheat and quick cool down left the plate brittle and full of stress. It was just waiting for a bit of force to be applied to shatter like glass.

Thanks All,

I will show my story to my dealer before I start dis assembly and reconstruction. I was interested in how one would preheat this large item. I thought of 4 propane torches, 2 on each side. My wife suggested leaving on the tractor and swing it over a fire pit and out when ready. maybe,,,, if I wrapped my cylinders in wet towels.

Hoping my dealer might solve it all. Great feedback. Thanks PS, I have 240 volt(Lincoln sp255 and 120/240(miller211) machines . Both have done a good job and I've had the 211 in places where I couldn't get the heavy sp255.

A weed burner torch will heat it up in no time but DO talk to the dealer first. Your bucket is a prime example of why it is very important to follow proper welding procedures.
