Craftsman GT5000 Discharge Problems

I had this problem with my older 46" deck. I first tried mowing it with the guard raised. Not much help. I then bought and started using gator blades and that seemed to help. Following my brothers advice, I then modified it with the sawzall. I opened up the discharge chute alot. As much as I could and still not throw stuff back at me past the guard. It really seemed to help with the clogging. I have only mowed twice with it since the modification and so far so good.
