Oh, and I definitely need to get at least the rear tires filled on that thing. I mow on the side of a hill, and I always lose traction in the spring when the ground is still a bit damp.

I'm thinking that windshield washer fluid would be the cheapest way to go, but I'll see if the local Les Schwab tire shop has RimGuard.

I have a JD125 that I am using to mow about 7 acres. I've had it for 3 years now and it's a trooper. I've had to have the mowing deck welded because it has developed cracks, but that's likely because I'm pushing this thing way beyond its recommended limits - I've even broken a blade spindle. Still, I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. I'm looking for a tractor now, but I will still keep the JD riding mower.

I have the LA135 starting it's 5th season. Bendix in starter quit early this month, cost me $22 for rebuild kit, $17 for a set of TORX long wrenches because it was the only way to get to the stupid starter bolt. (Blame Briggs&Stratton). Only complaint is keeping deck level. Neighbor has similar size Craftsman, and has had to fix at least one thing every season, mostly minor things, but aggravating. My father-in-law has a 7 year old JD, next size larger than mine, hasn't replaced anything, but it's showing signs of needing updating.
