Craig's List: how to easily post multiple times?

IF you have the time use CL. You can list multiple items per lsiting. Be creative. You wll need to set a price to avoid the haggelers.
We have a local ebay store. Drop off an item and the guy researchs the value, IF you agree on a price he lists for 10%. IF item sells he makes his profit on the 10% plus the S&H fee. He's small time but it must be paying the bills he has been going for a year now.

You could separate things by category and do one posting (with many items) per category... I see that all the time on my local CL. IF you go that route, please make it organized, there is someone on my local CL who lists an ad with 50+items all mixed together. Not fun to read, but if it were separated into sections it wouldn't be too bad

Good points

Current idea is to list a single item in subject to catch attention. Example : Dewalt electric grinder, $ 30.

Then, the listing will have photo of that item and description.

Also, a list of similar items which are hyperlinked to a web site I can set up where you get a photo of the item.

Each item listed will have brief description along with price.
Probably 10 items listed/hyperlinked per CL posting.

Will be a challenge to maintain... agreed...

Plan to put masking tape on each item with an inventory number, also include that number in CL ad so I know which ad goes with what tool.

Understand comments re organization, tax concerns, commissions.

John I,d be real carefull on the multi postings on CL & adding links . Not to piss off the flagging police . lol .

I buy & sell on there all the time & only post a few items at a time unless they belong in different sections then I might post a few more . All My ads are worded basiclly the same way as well as My location & I only repost every 4 or 5 days or so . You can do that by bringing up your ad clicking on the item & click delete . Then use your back arrow & it will give you the option to repost the exact same ad . Yes it is a pain , But I,ve never had one ad flagged in over 2 years .

Theres some folks that abuse it so bad with multiple postings for just a few bucks it Pisses everyone off & in most cases & They cant even sell on there anymore Because its removed immediatlly . Also the more your flagged the less people it takes to remove it .

Its going to take awhile to move that many items & your most likelly only going to have luck with a small percent of the people , the rest will be a waste of time & never show up or even call back .

My Advice DO NOT post your phone # . I Have them reply through CL with their phone # if they are interested . If They wont do that their flakes anyway IMO . I also Post No Spammers or tire kickers & No I dont need to borrow Money nor need a job or a date . This comes off Rude, But Most people understand . I also dont get the spammers . Just what works for Me . best of luck . Bob

I too buy and sell a lot. I've tried Craig's List, Ebay, local want ads, and setting stuff in front of my house with a sign on it. Craig's list is hit or miss. I've never tried listing multiple stuff. It seems like it would be a pain.

What I do see around here is links to "Blog Sales". Someone will set up a blog at a free service like Blogger. They'll list everything they have to sell on the blog and then put a link to it on Craig's list. I would suggest that you post a link in any relevant category... Tools, Farm & Garden, Materials, etc. I don't know if any of them have much success like that because I'll see many of the same blogs posted and reposted for months.

No matter how you do it, it's going to be a lot of work. You can either do the work yourself or let an auctioneer or estate saler do it.

If it were me, I'd pick out the 25 or so that I felt were worth the most or needed the most care in selling and send the rest to an auction house.

There is guy near here that re-sell's building materials through craigslist by linking them to a photobucket site.

Yep, using CL to link to another site seems the best way I've found, so far.
