Craigslist Flakes

If you have a pile of stuff to move I have found it much easier to just take a load to the local auction place that does online auctions. They take pics, list a description etc. some auctions run just a week or two but the more 'farm' ones list stuff for 30 days so plenty of time for people to see it. The one I have used a lot has a sliding commission scale: the more stuff you sell in the same auction and the higher the aggregate $$ amount the lower the commission

You get all the stuff off your place right away and don't have to deal with scammers, low-ballers tire-kickers, no-shows etc. Generally the money I get for items is about what I would get on Craigslist if not a little higher.

Oh NO , never . The tenants would be awful warm in the winter ,and cool in the summer on my dime . I have a small house a guy rented it , utilities were about $ 100 a month . A girl moved in after he left utilities were average $ 225 a month

She probably liked fresh air; e.g. opened windows in winter and turned up the heat to keep warm.

Ive gotten several of the IRS calls. I ignore them, i dont even answer my phone unless i recognize the voice.

My dad got the microsoft call while i was there. I told them we didnt have a computer.

I've gotten the robo IRS calls also. Got one at WORK one day; I was paged in the lunch room and I took it in there. The guy identifies himself as being from the IRS and asks "Are you So-and-So?" I said "yeah, that's me". He said "Well, I need to talk to you about the $7000 in back taxes you owe." About dropped my teeth. That was a lot of money in those days. Turns out he was looking for a guy who has the same name as me, but a different SS number, and his wife's name was different. It was a legit call; I got several others from creditors wanting a piece of his hide.

Quick! Run! It's the Topic Police :cop: again!

So what? What's the problem? That's how discussions sometimes go.

I just don't understand how the original thread got from ranting about Craigslist scum to phone calls from the IRS. It would be nice to keep things on track so you don't get email updates on the thread when it has nothing to do with what you posted. Kinda like the generator post I started about brands etc. and then that evolved into a whole electrical debate and getting killed my carbon monoxide. Really, if you don't have anything relevant to add why bother?

Threads take on a mind of their own sometimes. Tell a CL story and get us back on track.

OK, so I was browsing CL yesterday and saw the Casual Encounters area. What's a MFMW or TFMW?? Just kidding! Back on track now?

Tractor front axle style designation:

MFMW = Mono Front Motorized Wheels

TFMW = Twin Front Motorized Wheels

I suspect I don't want to know what those abbreviations represent.

Does somebody want to tell us how one of those CL Casual Encounters turned out for them? :D

Just had a guy contact me about my farmall H. I had it in barter where it don't have a price category so I didn't include a price and in farm and garden with a price. Seen both adds and price. Still texted me asking price then said he was looking for one for something with winter. Then said he'll get back. Yup another flake

The ones that really irritate me are the people that ask you if you still have the item then you never hear from them again. I truly think they have nothing better to do with their pathetic lives and somehow get amused by this. Losers I say, losers!!

It is strange.
I had the same thing. The ad was up for two days. The email asked if still available. I said yes and got no further response. I wonder if it is kids or loons?

I have a TV on KC Craigslist now listed for $250. Well worth what I'm asking. Lady today asks if I will take $100 and she can pick it up today. For $100 I will take it out back and have $100 worth of fun as target practice.

In all my CL ads I make a statement that the ad will be removed promptly when sold. If they are reading the ad, it is still for sale.

This helps reduce the flake inquiries and also helps sell stuff that doesn't go immediately.

The ones that get me is when they call 2 weeks after I took my ad down....:confused:
