Have only bought on CL, haven't had any scammers, a lot of posts that hold true to the if its too good to be true it most likely is.

Any time people interact there will be disagreement and attempted cheating. Add those to people who are there strictly for entertainment and it becomes a study in human nature. I ran several ads on FBMP and CL when I moved and there were days I considered burning it ( I actually took many usable items to the landfill rather than continue giving them away). I don't have a digital camera and have trouble using my phone so my granddaughter took pictures for me. People were asking for more pictures but could seldom tell me what they were looking for. For example what can you tell about rough sawn lumber from looking at pictures? I have a cruiser bike for sale now and had to tell people they have to be at the point of buying unless road test turns up a problem before they can test drive. It amazes me how many people can't answer yes to all these before "seeing how she handles". Is the price satisfactory? Is it the right color? Is it the model you are looking for? Are you going to buy it if no deficiency is found during road test?
